Configuration

Saved connections and preferences live in a single TOML file. Connections are[[connection]] tables; global behaviour goes under [settings], and colours under [theme].

Config file

# ~/.config/keyhole/config.toml

[[connection]]
type = "redis"
name = "prod-cache"
host = "127.0.0.1"
port = 6379

[settings]
tail_scrollback = 2000

[theme]
base = "gruvbox"

Locations

Keyhole reads its config from the platform config directory — on Linux,~/.config/keyhole/config.toml. Point it at any other file with --config.

# read a config file from anywhere
$ keyhole --config ./keyhole.toml --connect prod-cache

Flags

--config <file>Read config from a custom path.
--connect <name>Open a saved connection on startup.
--log-level <filter>Log verbosity, e.g. info or keyhole=debug.

Profiles

Every [[connection]] is a named profile. Launch one straight away by name instead of picking it from the list:

# config.toml
[[connection]]
type     = "redis"
name     = "prod-cache"
host     = "cache.internal"
port     = 6380
tls      = true
password = "env:REDIS_PW"

$ keyhole --connect prod-cache
tip

Passwords are never stored as literals — password is a spec: env:VAR, keyring[:account], or prompt, resolved at connect time.
