Getting started

Quickstart

From launch to a live tail in under a minute. This walkthrough uses Redis, but the same flow applies to AMQP 1.0 and RabbitMQ.

Launch

Run keyhole with no arguments to open your saved connections.

$ keyhole

Connect

On the connections list, press a to add one, then Enter to connect — or jump straight to a saved profile by name. Connections live in yourconfig file.

# jump straight to a saved connection by name
$ keyhole --connect prod-cache

Here's what you'll land in — the keyspace browser on the left, a value inspector on the right, and a live tail running below:

Keyhole browsing a Redis keyspace: a keys tree with types, TTLs and sizes, a value inspector, and a live keyspace event stream below.

Browse keys

Move with ↑ ↓, fold or unfold a group with Enter (orl), and inspect the highlighted value on the right. Press / to filter the keyspace by glob, and o / O to sort.

Start a tail

Focus the bottom panel with Ctrl+↓, cycle to the Pub/Subor Tail anchor with Tab, type a source spec, and pressEnter. Events stream in newest-last; press r to record.

# at the Pub/Sub or Tail anchor, type a source spec, then Enter:
psub:orders.*
